Michael’s past roles bring a wealth of experience and technical knowledge to the SecureWorks Counter Threat Unit where he works providing cyber threat intelligence to Enterprise Brand Surveillance customers. His day to day operations include monitoring of publicly available data and assembling it into actionable pieces of intelligence for SecureWorks customers so they may better understand the threats posed by public information sources. As part of these special operations within the Counter Threat Unit, Michael commonly monitors social media, forums, IRC networks, and markets on the dark web.
Presentation: Cyber Brand Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Defense
he stakes are high and involve the potential for intellectual property theft, financial loss, the compromise of client information, public embarrassment and, ultimately, the health and longevity of your organization. A capable and determined threat actor will select their target and marshal the resources needed to launch a sustained campaign against your organization. Now more than ever, you must have greater visibility and awareness of threats to your brand well beyond the edges of your network. Understand which attack scenarios are most likely to be launched against your company and why. Assess the potential impact of publicly available data to your security posture. Minimize attack surface and restrict potentially damaging information by performing active brand surveillance against the open/clear web, deep web and dark web. Semper Vigilantes!
