Speaker: Chris Smith – Senior Advisor, Identity and Access Management
Chris, originally from Shrewsbury, England, now living in Jacksonville, FL, brings more than 18 years of Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience to his role as a Senior Advisor at Optiv. Chris works with client to plan, build and run their IAM programs; helping clients understand and prioritize problems and solutions, aligning with tactical and strategic needs. As an IAM subject matter expert, Chris has delivered a wide range of problem solving solutions to his clients, many of which are Fortune 100 companies. Chris has diverse expertise, which includes defining IAM strategy and building IAM capabilities, having deep knowledge in Directory Services, Provisioning, Identity Governance, Single Sign On, Federation and Privileged Account Management. Prior to joining Optiv, Chris had varied roles at a large IT outsourcing firm over a tenure of 16 years, from engineering Directory Services in telecoms and government to building strategic Identity roadmaps in consumer goods. Chris was considered the IAM thought leader for the firm and ran a number of exciting projects from redefining the global go to market strategy and identity portfolio to launching the IAM consulting business in the Americas.
Presentation: What does a good Identity & Access Management Program look like anyway?e
In this interactive session Chris will discuss his perspective of Identity and Access Management based on his years of experience as a consultant solving client problems. Firstly, looking at Identity from a programmatic point of view, how do we build a strategy, what happens if we don’t have a strategy, and how to solve tactical problems along the way. Secondly, diving into Chris’ reference architecture for Identity, walking through the ecosystem component by component, understanding how they are connected and solve common client problems.
